2J 8 FABRIC ROOF COVER cover to prevent cement from contacting outer layer 7 R gg 1 5 t l 4 I O Feld Cm 6 1 on center line with inner hrygp rr cover exposed and place on roof panel adjacent to I center line Apply an B wide strip of cement r nitrile or neoprene on roof panel adjacent to cen ter line of roof panel See Fig 2JB r 2 4 z k s J ll With aid oi helper slide folded cover to cen ter line of roof panel Holding fabric cover securely at front and back window opening turn over folded X half of fabric cover and fasten to cemented portion WELD of root panel OLD me STOCK NOTE This operation should center fabric cover on roof panel Center marks on front and back window opening must correspond to center marks on fabric cover y l2 Once 8 strip of fabric cover is cemented to roof panel fold over side portion of fabric cover red Apply nitrile cement to roof panel to extend to location of edge of fabric cover previmisly removed and cut relief notches in fabric cover at weld on stud locations Qo Not Allow Cement Contact t Painted Surface that will be Exposed After Cover is Installed If neoprene type weattiersirip ceh 5 is used apply cement to ic cover and 16 panel Fig 2J7 F bric Cover Pliers IMPORTANT Application of cement should not overlap with previously cemented area as high iti of excess cement through fabric cover Vinyl Trim Adhesive or equivalent to entire inner wm pegiiig layer of fabric cover Allow to dry for a minimum of fifteen minutes A CEMENT TO SIDE 4 OF ROOF PANEL ill nitrile adhesive is not available neoprene type CEMENT 8 WIDE STRIP non staining weatherstrip cement 3M Super ADJACENT TOCENTER UN Weatherstrip Cement or equivalent may be used Instead of applying neoprene cement to entire inner W J A Cn r V layer of cover in one application a step procedure m y is used Do not allow drying period Begin by ap l NiI i i IYli rr Y plying an de Stl l l 3 9l It to center VY Qi i Y t i j r if line of fabric cover to correspond with area shown V I j11 il i r i ii g tW in Figure 2JB if L i i gi i 3 li itii LU F Q IMPORTANT Application of nitrile vinyl trim i l adhesive should be as thin as possible as an ex s V f cess amount of cement may result in trapped Y jj V solvents blisters between fabric cover and roof panel Application of neoprene type adhesive QE should also be as thin as possible as an excess r amount may result in Uhighliehtsl cement build up For these reasons a mohair roller o1 equivalent should be used to apply a thin coat of CEMENT AROUND OPENING cement to fabric cover and roof panel however ww if necessary a brush may be used Exercise care when applying cement on inner layer of Fig 2J8 Cememirig Procedure For Fabric Cover
