RocHis I IDE Page General Description 6M 8 Service Procedures 6M 8 Carburetor Synchronization 6M 8 Additional Checks and Adjustments 6M 8 Repair Procedures 6M 8 Removal gM g GENERAL DE The Rochester H Carburetor fig 18 used as a secondary carburetor on the Corvair 10700 series 4 x ll SERVICE rRI For Carburetor Synchronization refer to Section 6 Engine Tune Up Corvair 10700 series Additional Checks and Adjustments The following checks and adjustments may be made REPAIR PK Removal 1 Disconnect carburetor rods at carburetor throttle levers 2 Remove linkage bracket retaining screws and swin bracket and linkage up for clearance 3 Remove two nuts and washers attaching carburetor to intake manifold studs then remove carburetorl Disassembly I 1 Remove clip attaching pump rod to pump lever and disconnect rod from lever wr u 1 x I I P VI Fig 18 Rochester H Carburetor rER X Page Disassembly 6M 8 Cleani and Inspection 6M 9 Assembly and Adjustment 6M 9 Float Adjustment 6M 9 Pump Rod Adjustment 6M 11 Installation 6M 11 SCRIPt10N carburetors fig 19 has no choke idle power enrichment or low speed circuits CEDURES without removing the carburetor from the vehicle Float Adjustments Pump Rod Adjustment ICEDURES 2 Remove fuel inlet nut and gasket and remove filter element and spring 3 Remove bowl cover attaching screws then remove cover assembly 4 Remove pin attaching floats to bowl cover assembly and check floats for damage 5 Lift out float n e e d 1 e Check seat for dirt or corrosion 6 If necessary needle seat and gasket may be removed by using a large size screw driver It may then be cleahed or replaced as needed 7 Accelerator pump may be removed if necessary Remove clip and pump Remove shaft and lever if desired by removing clip shaft and lever 8 Remove the two screws and lock washers attaching venturi cluster to the bowl assembly and lift out the cluster gasket and main well insert 9 Remove pump discharge needle valve 10 If necessary invert carburetor bowl and remove throttle valve retaining screws and remove throttle valve and shaft assembly t F t Fig 19 Rochester H Carburetor Installed
